There’s only a 2-week filing period to file for school board .
Two weeks! May 19 – June 2nd.
The filing dates May 19-June 2nd have been known and posted on MN State website for a long time. Why isn’t this information easily found on school district and local government websites??
Incomplete and last minute posting on school board and local government websites is a disservice. How did you figure out there were three school boards up for (re)election in Ely?
This MN State webpage does not tell you how many open seats there all for school board(s).

The Ely City Elections website doesn’t mention Ely School Board Elections, not even as a courtesy. As with many public schools, you have to go to the school district website for information. Good luck!

When you open the information page, there are 3 links. Why can’t there be simple general information on this page?
(1) When are school board members up for election or when the next elections will be held?
(2) How many seats are up for (re)election?
(3) Where’s a link to current members?
(4) When is the filing period to run for school board?

Then you have to search for filing as a School Board Candidate https://www.sos.mn.gov/election-administration-campaigns/become-a-candidate/filing-for-school-board-member/. The instructions say
Why can’t the Ely School District itself tell you — on their own website — that you file with the school district clerk? And give specific address and hours when you walk in to file?
